October Miscellany: Pencils, Commonplace Books, Minimalism

I'm catching up from my month of absence, so this miscellany is a bit longer than average.  I hope that in November I'll finally get my blogging schedule fully back on track again.  Thanks so much to all of you for your comments and support!

  1. Thank you for mentioning my Rhodiarama post, Heather! I always appreciate the brief synopsis you include with your Miscellany -- much more helpful then just the blog title.

    1. I'm glad that you like the synopsis! I sometimes wonder whether I should include it, as most other blogs I read don't include such a thing when they share links. So I'm glad to hear that you appreciate it :)

  2. I read All Things Stationery's good review. Premium wood-cased pencils may be an acquired taste, but they have some advantages over other writing gear.

I keep one at my bedside table to jot down a hasty thought, sometimes when still half-asleep. No propelling mechanism, no retracting device, no finicky nib or ball, plus you always know at a glance how much writing medium remains. They're very well-made so the graphite and wood are unlikely to separate or crumble. Jack/Ohio
